Ranbir Kapoor Biography

An Indian actor best known for his work in Bollywood movies. Ranbir Kapoor was born on September 28, 1982. He is among the highest-paid actors in Hindi films and since 2012, he has been on Forbes India’s Celebrities 100 list. Several awards, including six Filmfare Awards, have been given to Ranbir.

The grandson of Indian actor, and director Raj Kapoor and the son of Bollywood couple Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.  Ranbir Kapoor pursued filmmaking and method acting at the School of Visual Arts and The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute,  He then worked with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the movie Black (2005) before making his acting debut in the critically and financially unsuccessful film Saawariya 2007, which was a sad love story. With his roles in the romantic comedy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and the coming-of-age drama Wake Up Sid, Ranbir Kapoor gained fame in 2009. His most famous movie during his time was the political drama movie Raajneeti (2010).

Ranbir Kapoor won 2 successive Filmfare Awards for Best Actor for his roles as a troubled singer in Rockstar (2011) and a joyful deaf and dumb guy in Barfi (2012). His status as a celebrity was further enhanced by his major role alongside Deepika Padukone in the 2013 romantic comedy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. After this, there were more commercial failures, with the exception of the romantic comedy Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). This changed when Kapoor took the role of Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic Sanju, one of the highest-grossing Indian movies, for which he was nominated for Best Actor.

Rishi Raj Kapoor (Father)

Indian actor, director, and producer Rishi Raj Kapoor ( September 4, 1952 – April 30, 2020) specialized in Hindi cinema. He received various awards, including a National Film Award and four Filmfare Awards. He was a member of the Kapoor family and made his lead role in his father Raj Kapoor’s 1970 movie Mera Naam Joker, for which he was nominated for a National Film Award as Best Child Artist. He played the main character opposite Dimple Kapadia in a teen romance Bobby (1973), which earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. This was his first leading performance as an adult. In the period between 1973 and 2000, Rishi Kapoor played the romantic lead role. Neetu Singh (Mother)

Actress Neetu Singh, born on July 8, 1958, is best known for her roles in Bollywood movies from the late 1960s to the early 1980s.  Neetu Singh was honored in 2012 with Mumbai’s Walk of the Stars, an entertainment hall of fame located at Bandra Bandstand. When she was just six years old, Neetu Singh made her acting debut in the swashbuckler Suraj (1966), and shortly after that she had a dual part in the romantic comedy, Do Kaliyaan (1968). She had her start in Nasir Hussain’s masala film Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), where she performed as a dancer, and then began moving to more adult parts in the action movie Rickshawala (1973). She became well-known for her parts in the criminal drama films Deewaar (1975), Khel Khel Mein (1975), Kabhi Kabhie (1976), and Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), as well as the fantasy film Dharam Veer (1977).
